I have a Kacey dish I'd like to use on my Dynalight heads. The head I'd like to use it on is the sh2000. What speed ring insert would I need to make this happen. Searching B&H and other photo sites isn't going well right now and I just don't think I'm finding what I need.

Speedotron users, untie!

Why don't you write to Kacey, since their web site says "We will also mount specific brand flash inserts to the bracket (~25 to ~65 USD depending on brand)"?

The Dynalite SH2000 supercedes the Dynalite 4040, and both use a speedring which as been supported by third party accessory makers for a long time.

I did when I picked up the Speedotrons and he said all I would need is the speedotron speedring insert. I ordered one from B&H and installed it, but all I've seen for the Dynalites are the 2050 head type insert and it doesn't look like even that would fit.

The same speedring fits all Dynalite heads and monolight head.

We special order them in from Chimera and drill the four screw holes in the edge with a 11/64th drill bit.

I found one a lot easier by searching for comet. There's the bayonet mount that fits more securely on the sh2000 though.

I consulted Photoflex, and they definitely have a different speedring for Comet vs. for Dynalite.

Same applies to Chimera, too, differentiating Comet from Dynalite.
(Chimera has four different speedrings for Comet heads, while Photoflex offers one and says it is not compatible with two Comet models!).

The Creative Light 100835 Speed Ring is a bayonet mounted speedring for attaching softboxes to Comet flash heads, and is also compatible with Dynalite SH2000, AH4000, SH4080 and 4040 heads. Creative Light also offers another ring 100828, for other Dynalite heads.

The Plume speedring is also stated to be for Comet and Dynalite 4040 heads, but the illustration shows no bayonet mount.

Used the aluminum comet ring I found on Amazon and it works perfectly. Kacey was nice enough to mail me out replacement parts for a screw and post that some how got cross threaded when I put the Speedo ring on there for just shipping costs.

Between that and Dynalite's customer service, I've been pretty impressed over the past two weeks.
