I haven't posted in here for a while and thought a quick update might be of minor interest.

I have used the spyder settings on my RGB LED DELL for a few months now and have got used to the colours (as some mentioned early:) ) and I can say I am very happy with it. Although the colours do look different on my HP Envy 17" (1080 display) and tend towards a bit too much red in my amateur opinion. But I find that if I set my white point with RAW pictures carfully, then the ultimate results are fine. I probably need to find more time, get off my bum and do a bit more study about these things, but there again, those ducks dont photograph themselves.....

Call me Amanda please :)

Has anyone succesfully calibrated an LG Flatron Monitor using sypder4pro. I'm having difficulties with the process. During the time of adjusting for brightness during ambiant light it tells me to adjust my monitor to the targeted c/m2. However, when I go into my monitor's OSD and go to brightness it only goes from 1 to 100%. Any suggestions?

It should give you a measurement value when it does the analysis and you bump your brightness up or down accordingly.

So it will do it for you? It is a little confusing because it says to maually adjust until the line reaches the middle and to upate. Should I not even bother trying to adjust but just go forward with the calibration? Thanks for your help in advance!

My LG monitor only adjusts on a scale of 1 to 100% so not sure how to adjust to a targeted cd/m2.

Yes to my knowledge all monitors are the same in that respect, the software will measure your current screen brightness at "xyz" cd/m2 and then you adjust up or down manually. It might take a few tries to get it in the range it wants.

The monitor controls will have their own "scale". Typically, I'd adjust way down and then if your calibration software has the "analysis tools" it will report back to you as to how your brightness is set according to the c/m2 "standard".

You can set it to match the "standard", but you should know that ambient light can have an effect on some calibration devices. The "final test" will be a print which, when held in good light, will favorably line up with your monitor display.

Appears that you need an Elite to be able to set a specific luminance in Cd/m^2
