Well last week I was shooting, and tripped over some uneven rocks and this flew out of my hand. Have to get it estimated, but I am guessing it is going to the camera gods now. The only bummer is now I am going to have to sell my 300 2.8 is I just bought. Now my only body is this piece of crap Nikon p&s. (it's my work camera so no judgement) So again I will ask, anyone want to buy a mint 1d mkiv. :) I can only make light of this not to be really mad.

Does it still work? Did you get a repair estimate?

Take Care,
Cheers, Patrick

i am getting an estimate tomorrow, but the case is broken all the way into the hot shoe and the shutter is completely destroyed. Now keep in mind the lowest I will take for it is 3500.00, I have seen some sell with scratches so i discounted 500.00 of it.

Its not expensive..... my 1dmk3 cracked (opposite side where the lcd window resides) and the modular piece was fixed aprox 250 bucks at Canon (Toronto).

This modular piece came with brand new buttons.

Nothing a piece of gaffer tape can't fix. It just adds character.

Will it still work without the shutter? I mean, will people still think I'm a, like totally cool paparazzo dude with this round my neck? If so, your 3,500 Icelandic króna offer price tempts me...

I wanted to say that but didn't think anyone would get it. You must have had a sport bike or motorcycle at one time.
