Has jpegs too, they look fine. I'm sure I'm missing something stupid or it's a setting somewhere. PS doesn't recognize them either.

On a slightly-related note, the CHDK firmware hack really takes this camera to a whole new level.

Did you check with adobe to see if that camera's raw format is supported?

no, never thought of that. They are CR2's, if that's the case could I use some 3rd-party software?

All Canon raw files are "CR.2", but they are different for every camera. A CR.2 out of a 5D is different then a CR.2 out of a 550D. That's why LR can't read CR.2 files for the new 5DIII yet, even though it can for the mII.

A link to the CHDK RAW info page:

edit: it looks like you'll have to use some other software to convert the image to a DNG. There is a lot of software listed on that page to use in both converting and processing.

You can set CHDK to write DNG files straight to the memory card.

Select the DNG options in the CHDK Raw menu then you need to also "Create Bad Pixel Bin" from the menu before you can shoot. I've enabled it on my A480 and SX130IS compacts and it works fine, producing DNGs that work with ACR [and hence will be fine with LR].

Winrar, I got it to work. Took me a minute to figure it out but it's working now.

If you want to convert photos you already have you should be able to do it with this.

Are there a few main/popular CHDK threads on this forum?

I finally got my SX110 working - shooting DNG is such a Bonus! - first on a 2GB SD card and after much finagling - on my 8GB card...

LOVE the DNG and Battery Percent Remaining features! - these two alone make it worth the trouble figuring it all out!
(What else do you guys routinely use??)

Again - if there are any popular CHDK threads here I would be interested... Frankly I'm surprised there is no Sticky.

Thanks gang ~

Haven't used it much, but the bracketing ability is also a bonus if you want to shoot HDR.
