Separating the Rosco Cinegel sampler...how!?

Just got my Cinegel sample swatchbook...for the life of me I can't take apart the screw holding them all together. I tried unscrewing it with a pair of pliers and a flat head, it spins but never loosens.

Do I need to just cut this thing off or am I missing something here???
