Thought I would try the new CS6 betta out on some new images taken the other day that I didn't get to process.

If you haven't tried it yet it is free. The only thing that could go wrong is getting spoiled;)

First thing that I liked is the darker layout which is similar to elements. Other than that I haven't been able to mess with it enough to justify the $1k price tag (extended version).

Great birds Evan. My favorite is the Black Turnstone. Let's say it was possible to ignore the expensive price, what do you think of the beta?

Ignoring the price? I would definitively get it. NR seems very good. The only complaint I have so far is the lack of contrast between the tools and the BG. But that is very minor.

Here is a screen shot of me editing a photo in CS6

Your results look excellent Evan, I'm very impressed both with the species and the processing. Not sure I'm ready to jump from CS5 just yet, but we'll see.
Thanks for bringing all of this to our attention!

Very good results. Having had a taste of what the full photoshop can do compared to elements I am tempted, it's just a lot of money to spend on software.

Thanks everybody!
If I had all of the cameras and lenses that I wanted, then I would make the move. Currently I am not too that point yet. My money can better improve my photography elsewhere :)

Lovely shots, Evan. The first is my pick, but all three are good.

Could you elaborate a bit on the crop tool, Evan? Why is it amazing in CS6?

Those are fantastic shots, and you made good use of CS6. I am liking it as well. I just posted some shots after using it. The spot adjust brush in ACR is much better and includes the noise removal like I had hoped for. I do wish that fill light was still in the main adjustment tab though. Shadows works similiar but you have to use it in conjunction with the white and black slider to get it right. Oh well it is not the end of the world I guess.
