Please critique.
I PP to level the horizon line. For some reason, it feels a little out of focus after PP (or it's my crappy monitor).

Canon EOS Rebel T2i
1/20sec. exposure
F12.9
ISO 100
Focal length 23mm

Looks over exposed. Why such a long exposure, (1/20 sec) were you trying to blur the water?

Yes definitely over exposed. Also white balance seems a little off

And you've got barrel distortion - buildings leaning left and right. Is the water really a dirty yellow?

Yes, I was trying to get the falls blurred to show movement. I'll try a darker filter next time.
It's hard to get to this location except during lunch at work, so shooting in the middle of the day certainly adds to the difficulty.

And yes, that is the true color of the water. Makes you wonder about Genessee Beer, doesn't it? :)

Is there a way to correct for barrel distortion as you take the picture, or PP after?

Unless you have a special tilt-shift lens you must correct in PP. To minimize it try keeping your camera sensor perpendicular to the ground.
I'll be sure to avoid Genessee Beer for life.

ALBANY, N.Y. (WIVB) - Environment New York ranks the Genesee River as one of the most toxic rivers in the country.

I've taken a few photos from that bridge/walkway also. Definitely over exposed.

Genesee beer doesn't come from the Genesee River. They use water from Hemlock Lake....just like the rest of Rochester does.

Do an HDR, or take multiple exposure and fuse them with something like Photomatix. Set the shooting mode to high speed continuous. You'll likely be able to end up with a blurred water fall simply from a ghosting effect, while maintaining sharpness with a fast shutter speed.

If you're using Lightroom you can correct the distortion in the Lens Corrections panel.
