Until I read your later post and got more on the background, I was going to suggest you hire a private eye to see what your wife's been up to:lol::lol::lol:

If the wife wanted a $3,500 Necklace would she just buy it or would she ask you about it first?

What's she going to do with the necklace? Take pictures? Lol

My wife did the same thing too. But two days later she texted me that she had purchased a diamond ring. :-). She deserves it, and I deserve the Mark III too. :-)

This is a very nice story - and even nicer that you wanted to share it.

My husband also said, "go ahead and get it." we each buy what we want, but always bounce major purchases off each other.

My wife (of almost 40 years) gets a look of mild disgust when I talk about new equipment and says, "Why are you asking me? Get it." I just know my 4x6's and web pictures would look so much better with a Mark III :p

She's more of a Coach type of girl. I think I've collected her a small army's worth of them over the years.

That was nice of your wife. Now it's time for you to show off with some pictures. :)

As cold as this sounds, I must say that this is the way my marriage works. We have a bill account which the bills are paid from and our own personal accounts were we can buy what we want. I've spent about 3 grand in the past year on this hobby and has never cleared it with my hubby. He did ask one time how much I've spent, I told him, he looked at me like I was crazy and laughed.

Not really cold at all. I know quite a few people that manage their finances this way and it works perfectly well for them. in fact, the first couple years we were married we did the same thing. We've both found over the years that handling everything jointly works better for us.
