Does the 5d have mfa on the wide and tele end on zooms, or is that just the 1dx?

Yes! You can set up two adjustments for a zoom, one for each end of its zoom range.

It's also a step up from 5DII and 7D MFA in some other ways....

You can adjust up to 40 specific lenses (increased from 20).

The 5DIII in most cases appears to be able to adjust by specific lens, i.e. by lens serial number. The earlier camera was by lens model only, so if you dialed in some adjustment for an EF 50mm f1.4 lens it would apply to any EF 50mm f1.4 attached to the camera. That changes with the 5DIII (though there appear to be some limitations, not all lens are covered, perhaps third party lenses?).

One place this will be a big advantage is if using teleconverters. You can set up an adjustment specific for the lens without any teleconverter, another one with it + 1.4X and potentially even one for the same lens + 2X, I believe.

Page 104 of the manual has detail on "Fine Adjustment of AF's Point of Focus". Canon appears to be changing what they call this feature... refers to this page and title from "AF Microadjustment" notation on an earlier page. I guess we'll have to start calling it "FAAFPOF" instead of "MFA". ;)
