Hi, I have searched to try to find my answer, but it has made me more confused. I have a 60D and a Sigma 17-50. I want to get a .9 hard and .6 soft ND grad filters. I was looking at the conkin P with a 77mm adapter ring and the 84mm hitech filters. I am having a hard time finding out if that size of filter is going to be big enough to not introduce vignetting. Do I need to go with the z series or the lee foundation kit? I would be wanting to stack 2 filters, if that makes a difference. Thank you for your help!

You will have to worry about vignetting.

I use cokin P size filters (hitech filter w/cokin holder) with my sigma 17-70 which is a 72mm filter. I normally use it with a B+W CPL and if I do not have the filter holder completely square to the camera then I will actually get the edges of the filter holder in the shot.

Yes. I would suggest getting some kind of 100mm set up. Be it a Lee holder with Lee filters or Hitech holder with hitech filters or some other combination.

I dont know the difference between cokin Z and a normal 100mm filter as they are both 100mm (might be thickens?) but options for the Z seem VERY limited where 100mm filters are the nor and made by several different companies.

Honestly, while the cokin P size filters work fine for me, if I had it to do over again I would go with 100mm filters and a hitech or even LEE holder (if you can find any place that has the Lee in stock.)

Also know that the Century Precision Optics holder is the same exact holder as the LEE (one of them makes it for the other, but not sure who makes it for who)

I don't think you'd need the WA adapter ring but I've never used the lee on a sigma 17-50 lens before so I can not say for sure
