After my first unsucessful meeting with Elly (a reason why I don't drink), I was taken to one of her shows where I was truely astounded; such a talented harpist and an amazing vocalist!

This was my first time shooting at a live event. I did have my 430ez on me, but I couldn't get the bounce just right. So I ended up having to fight with the venue's (The Croft, Bristol) stupid, automated lighting -_-

Anyways, here are the images :) Probably won't be doing any more event photos as it's not really my cup of tea, but feedback's appreciated as always :)

Thank you :) It's pretty annoying that the lighting there wasn't consistent :(

Try direct flash at -2/3 or -1 stop and review how it's blending. It may preserve the background lighting, yet more properly illuminate the subject. Use "stupid" to your colorful advantage.

On stage there are 2 lights that's change into random colours whenever they like in no order or anything. I ended up not using the flash in the end and just dealing with the outcome as they were. Appreciate the c&c though :)
