5dmk2 compact flash cards question

Hey everyone, I mainly shoot landscapes and some walkaround photography. I will be shooting some videos with the 5dmk2 I just bought.

I am currently using 4x sandisk ultra II 2gb cards (was using with 40d)... they are 10mb/s

Both as far as memory and speed goes, I feel I will need to upgrade. I am deciding between 4x 8gb ultra II cards (the new ones - 30 mb/s) for $25 each or 2x 16gb extreme III cards (the new ones - 60 mb/s) for $65 each. Using the 4 smaller cards would be preferable for me I think because each fits about 300 photos and that way I don't have so many photos on one card, in case it gets corrupted or lost. And it would be cheaper to do it this way. Is the 30mb/s adequate for my use - I am mostly concerned about video... but I just recorded some video on my 10mb/s ultra II so I'm thinking the 30mb/s will be fine!

Any thoughts?

After some more research, it looks like the 8gb ultras are the way to go.

Both of them will work, it is depending on what you want. Having a smaller card you will have to keep switching cards while missing a shot, maybe. I prefer larger cards and faster mb/s, I usually format my cards before I start and format it after transferring all the photos.

i think it's more of a preference depending on the shooter. like charles said smaller cards will require you to keep changing and if you shoot 100% RAW then bigger CF would work. for me the smallest I have is 1GB which i use for food photog, but when travelling out and about, i usually just bring a couple 4G and 8G. now if you are shooting sports and spraying.. then bigger CF the better.
