Hi
I built this bird house about a month ago to try and entice some birds in so I can take some pictures of them, I dont get many small birds at my garden mainly seagulls, starlings and pigeons.

I got very excited when I saw this little Bluetit making off with a nut, I grabbed my camera a shot away. I hand my 50mm 1.8 on so had to crop heavliy.
Think I'm going to have to get a longer lens..

Welcome to the forum! Welcome to birding, be careful though it is addicting and can cost a bunch for nice glass. You did good for a hurry up shot, lets see some more.

Hahah...now you're hooked :) Welcome to the madness of birding!

Pretty good snap of the little guy. I just got back from a week in London, last night, and I found out just how hard it is to get one of those little ones to stay still...(still don't have a shot of them) :p They're a lot like our Chickadees.

Thanks. I'm thinking off getting the 400mm 5.6L about as much I can afford.
I took these through my dobule glazed back door and about 16ft away.
I later watched them with my binoculars and noticed that across the street the were flying into the corner of there roof, I think the pair where out looking for food and was taking it back to feed their young ones.
They came back again today but I wasn't ready with my camera.
Heres another one .

I would love to shoot chickadees. I think they are cute. Not sure if we have them here in the uk.

Yep, you're hooked just like Eric said - :)
You can get a lot of enjoyment from bird photography as many here have.
Love your "starter". Nothing like a tit whose eyes are bigger than it's stomach!
Keep after `em and we'll enjoy more from the UK!
