Thanks for the post OP, Bought a 5d2 earlier!! Hoping for great condition as is everyone else :P. Shipping to Los Angeles came to around $1630. Great deal, and 3% back from Mr. Rebates sweetens it! Also picked up a 17-40 in the selling forum! I hope I get everything this week, it would be fantastic.

I'm just glad so many people from POTN are taking advantage of this deal. I did a double-take when I saw the 5Dii was included on the deal—almost too good to be true!

Many thanks OP. I grabbed one.

In my excitement, I didn't even check what it came with. I'm assuming battery, battery charger and neck strap, right?

Yeah Weegee, everything as normal except the box. I believe it comes in a white generic box or something.

Now I need to go buy me some Wasabi or Sterlingtek batteries and I guess my Extreme 1 gig and 2 gig cards probably aren't big enough for that HD video and extra mega pixels : ) LOL

I am a newb to DSLR photography. About 1 year. Can someone put in simple terms the advantages a 5Dii would give me over my 550d. Please dont be too harsh I really do not know what the FF advantages are, and what the features of the 5Dii provide in practical terms. I have read them on paper but am unable to relate as I have never held one.

whats mr rebates?

Mr Rebates is pretty cool.

It gives you some percentage cash back on stuff you buy on the web (deposited into your Paypal or sent to you as a paper check).

Canon gets you 3% back, Adoramma 3%, Newegg, Abe's of Maine 2%, Print for Less 12%.....

It is totally free and does not spam your email.

If you don't already have an account, feel free to use my referral link:

No bragging list - I just rent whatever the job requires.

The 5D2 is out of stock but the deal is still valid through 3-27-12 according to the fine print.

Nice...this probably is reflective of us nearing the bottom of the MKII price curve. Once the refurbs are gone I'd expect the prices to begin creeping back up so if you're looking to buy one...better do it soon.
