saw this DIY pelican case...

check out this link... i'm pretty sure it not going to be sealing out the moisture but a couple dry pack in the case should do the trick for camera storage.

this might be fun little project to do at home. after selling all of my unused cam bags to fund for the KATA 3n1-25PL, i need something to keep my 30D and some accessories in.

oh man this is pretty nice. now i have stop by harbor freight on my way home from work.

yea that's what i was thinking too. where else can you find a DIY case like that for that price.

I had two aluminum cases like that I purchases at Lowes. They had the foam inside that is cut into squares so you can make any shape you want, I used them for my pistols.
Similar to this:

I need waterproof, this won't do it.

I have one of these for carrying a bunch of pocketwizard stuff. They should not even be mentioned in the same sentence as a Pelican case. They are cheap crap, nothing more. Cheap china made crap no less. It's funny because it comes with keys but there's nothing in the locks that actually works - so the keys are worthless. It's basically a ripoff of a Husky product.

But for smaller things it's not bad. No way would I put my camera and lenses in it.

Also you should let it air out for a few days after using it - the smell is horrible and probably not good for you.
