Hello... I did a search on this site, and couldnt find much about it. I think I will like it, but I am going to half to talk someone into letting me buy a book.
but before I do, is it worth $20? Say I have some very nice images of birds and assorted wildlife that I would like to sell.... would it help much? Thanks guys!

I wonder if the video editors on The Titanic ever went, "Sorry, I can't right now. I'm busy synching the Titanic..."

I haven't seen a recent one, but if you make one $21 sale, you're ahead of the game? ;)
Since you used a descriptive title, the forum has done a mini-search for you. Look at the links at the very bottom left hand corner of this page.

You might also check with your local library to see if they have a copy before you buy it. If it turns out it may be something you would like to have you can buy it, if it doesn't seem to be of any use to you, your not out the purchase price.

Yeah, your local library should have a copy that might be a year or two old--but it will show you what the book is all about. But I can tell you it's really more of a "photographer+writer" marketing book.

Latest copy my library has is 2009.
What do you mean? That the jobs are centered toward photographers with writing skills?

Well, I think I am going to give it a shot. If I don't like it, hey, maybe someone in the marketplace will want it!

Just that most magazines are looking for a package deal of copy and art rather than just art. If you just offer art, they need a context to put it in. If you're real lucky, maybe they have an article just sitting there needing art. But you make your own luck if you can write that article yourself.

Nope. You are better of going to a bookstore or going to web sites for the magazines you are interested. You'll have updated contacts. I got the 2012 edition and still not upto date.

Well, get the book to see how business is done--some background on how to write queries, package submissions, et cetera. Then update the information directly from the websites and looking at a few issues on the stands. You don't find submission and editorial requirements for many (if not most) magazines on their websites.

True! But this is much better book for that purpose:

But that book has no information on specific publications.
