Took advantage of some nice Seattle weather and went out to test my new camera and lens (5D2 + 85 1.8). A friend of mine brought along his super clean AP2 S2000. Lemme know what you think!

Nice shots and a nice car.

Good ones, but they look a little too bright to me, too.

I purposely wanted them to be towards the brighter side, but none of my highlights are blown. You think they're too bright?

Maybe it's just contrast. The parking & tail lights look washed out to me, so maybe the car could be a little darker. The background is very low contrast & doesn't look natural to me.

But maybe we aren't seeing the same thing. Even if your monitor is calibrated, your browser can make a difference: WEB BROWSER CHECK - Test Page (external link) - ICC profiles and Photoshop Color Management

The second shot is very nice. However, I think you've probably desaturated them a bit and, due to the light color of the car, everything looks a bit bland. Some contrast (or color in the background) would help a lot.

I like the composition but like others have said IMO you need more contrast. It will still keep the bright feel you're going for but will add a bit of pop.

In PS open up curves and in the drop down menu at the top of the curves box try linear contrast or medium contrast and you'll see what I mean.

great angles just the brightness as previously stated.

main objective is always to separate the car and make it stand out. with the brightness the way it is, it blends in and doesnt show it off.

would love to see a re-edit if you had time.
