That Lancair must be a beast with that PT-6 pulling it around

Thanks...

I've caught him once or twice in the overhead and yeah, it hauls a**. Even in the pattern.

I don't think you ever want to get too deep into the backside of the power curve in that thing!

Whenever you post I always end up staring at one of the pics for several minutes because it's so striking. All these are super, but this time it's the T-6 that made me pause. What a great image (honorable mention to the B/W Caravan)!

I'm glad you had a good weekend. You used a tripod on the Caravan, right?

If I can get folks to stick around for a few and keep eyeballs on the frame, I guess I've done my job! :D Thanks very much...

Tripod for both shots yes. I have others of the Caravan where I was handheld but I needed to stay registered for this one to get my flash (white light) and my buddies flash (red interior) to fit seamlessly in post.

This is more or less a BTS shot with the Caravan...

From camera Left to Right:
- 580 on a stand pointing up at the tail
- Elinchrom 600RX + Large Octobox running off a Vagabond II
- 430EXII under the plane (second flash down there was another shooters)
- 580EXII on a stand (laying flat on the ground to stay out of people's shots) pointed up at underside of right wing.

I had no idea there were Garret-powered Caravans. I've been trying to figure out what type of plane that was in another thread as the nose didn't look like a Caravan but everything else did. Very nicely done!

Maybe a dumb question, but....how did you capture the full prop arc using a flash?
