Wow, at current conversion rate the D800 is now USD $4143.08???
Hooray for the 5DIII price at $3499...seems like a bargain now.
Wonder how many preorders for the D800 at the original price will be honored...

Still $3k at Bhphotovideo web site as of 3/26. Price increase only in England. Let's see how many other increases occur before jumping into any conclusion.

Still learning

Don't be surprised if you see an increase on the Canon side. I work for the ISG division(print/copy) and we are instituting an increase effective April 1.

In Singapore here..since both their launched and availability to consumers..Nikon prices were much higher. Also realized is the battery pack which is expensive and one have to has it just to get at that 6 fps..from what I understand.

Internal Systems Error? Sounds like utter nonsense. It's like when the Nintendo Wii first came out and people were jacking up the prices because they knew desperate people would pay.

That's messed up.

More like intentional and a strategy to made ppl think that Canon was more expensive before initially sales..ha..x3! So those Canon fan boy on preorder who switched to the dark side are the ones affected.

Don't even for a second think that Canon will not follow up with their own price increases. It's just a matter of when.

Like you wouldn't take a higher salary if you could. It's not messed up.

LOL!

Internal error = translation: "We thought we priced this just below our competitors price, but now we just figured out that we're losing out on $500, so we need to adjust the price"

Well, I guess that's one more reason not to switch to Nikon D800, eh?
