Arca-Swiss L-Bracket - would you get it for 5Dm3?

So I recently learned about L bracket and I am looking to get one for Mark III that should be arriving soon. I've heard good things about Kirk & RRS L brackets and I know that Arca Swiss recently came out with their own. Being that this is a well known brand that has been in business for years I am assuming this would be a good purchase.

My concern with the other brands is that the brackets are not available yet and the fact that one bracket fits one body.

I'd go with RRS. I've used them without problems on two bodies. I'm sure Arca Swiss would be decent as well.

Dilemma is that there is no RRS or Mark III yet. I am going on a photography tour soon and want to take L-bracket with me.

I've did my research about RRS and everyone agrees they are a good company and make awesome l-brackets. Does anyone have any experience with Arca Swiss bracket? I know if we would be talking about heads everyone would agree that A-S is one of the top contenders.

Does Arca-Swiss have their L plate out already for the 5D3? In my past experience RRS is pretty much always the first.

The Arca Swiss is a universal fit plate. If you absolutely have to have something for your trip I'm sure it will work just fine. Just be aware that it will be a little clunky compared to the custom fit brackets.

Oh its a universal one?! Yea, if you MUST HAVE one, you can go that route, but IMO universal arca-swiss plates completely degrade the stability and quality and purpose of going ara-swiss in the first place. But, ya gotta do that ya gotta do. If you dont have anything you cant even mount the camera to your tripod.

Errr. I am going on a trip in early May. I might be able to get RRS if they release it late April and if I order it right away.

If you guys think A-S will not be as good as a custom bracket I think I will wait until end of April. In the worst case scenario I will buy whatever is available closer to my trip.

Why not call or e mail RRS as to the available date. My last email to them ( a week ago) was answered within a few minutes. They are most eager to help.
I would avoid anything that claims to be "universal"

I have RRS L brackets for all of my cameras (except the old D60).

I don't know about any other brands, but RRS is great!

Obviously you are not speaking of the base of the L bracket or haven't had the chance to try one. The stainless steel rails and the anti-twist pin make it as stable as anything out there, if not more so. There was an attachment with a pic in my earlier post, I added to the post to show the configuration.

I've got RRS brackets on my bodies now, I'd wait for theirs.

Can anyone recommend a generic plate (not a L plate) that will work with RRS BH-55? I have an L-plate for the BG-E11 pre-ordered with RRS but it may not be out until May or June as they have to wait until the grip comes out which is end of April. I don't see any 'universal' ones on RRS (unless I missed it). Thanks in advance!
