Can you capture video from a VCR with a Vixia HF200

Hi, I have some old VCR video that I would like to digitize. Is there a way to capture that Video with my VIXIA HF200?

It would probably look terrible, especially if the VCR doesnt have any DNR or a built in TBC or S-VHS or an S-Video out, but I guess if your camcorder has an input it could be done.

Aside from playing your video on a television and pointing the Vixia camera at the tv, no, you can't use your camcorder to digitize the VCR output. Unless I am mistaken, there is no "video in" port on your camcorder, only "video out".

Not to worry, though, there are other options. With the understanding that the resulting video will be no where near the quality you see from modern video sources, you need one of these, or something similar. There are any number of devices under $100 that will allow you to take the output from your VCR into your computer. PC or Mac. This one will accept either composite or s-video input, plus both left and right audio tracks.

Note that without a TBC depending on the condition of the VHS tapes you may get serious tracking issues...
