I would barely trust a rebel on that thing let alone a prosumer camera like the 7D or 5D. I own a contour and that thing weighs slightly over a quarter of a pound. So that mount was designed to hold something that's 6 times lighter than a 7D without a lens. Now I'm sure you could mount it on there and it won't break statically but no way would I expect it to with stand the vibrational stresses seen with a moving car. Not to mention if you mount it in a position that puts a large torque on the arm. I am all for doing things on the cheap but risking my expensive camera falling from a moving car because I decided to cheap out on a mount is not a smart move in my opinion. Kevin
