I read about them on this forum but cannot find the link to the seller on Ebay anymore.

I read that the fake one is actually made more sturdier than the original. Can anyone help with the link and advice?

There was an issue with the BRS's connector breaking which I believe has long since been remedied.
Can't vouch for the performance of the linked!

Now they're using Sun Sniper marketing materials to push their Black Rapid ripoff. Nice.

Thanks!

Can anyone confirm if BRS connector issue has been fixed? My earlier researched found that there were reports that knockoff had better metal @ connector.

Found this on Fleabay - http://www.ebay.com …Grips&hash=item3a713e72f0 (external link)

Looks to be different brand and connector is completely different and looks to be better made.

I'd love to get opinions of others.

I've got the one in the Amazon link. The plate on the bottom of the camera was ridiculous... so I got rid of that and got the BR FastenR-3 .. then, the hook connector broke... it almost made my camera land on the ground during a motorcross shoot... so I replaced that with the BlackRapid hook... when it's all said and done, I still spent less on the whole setup than I would have spent buying all BR stuff in the first place... but I wouldn't say that the quality (in as delivered condition) is equal to or exceeding the BR products. ... Just saying, if you decide to get the knockoff version, be prepared to replace some parts... or be prepared for your camera to hit the ground when you least expect it.

The new link I added it looks to be completely different type of metal used (zinc alloy as per description).
