I was waiting for a properly grey day to photograph the Scottish Highlander cows that live a few miles from my apartment. The weather was misserable today. I figured it would make the cows look like they live in Scotland rather than North Carolina.

Wow, that last one is quite the glamour shot. Who was the hair stylist?

Thanks guys. I got totally soaked taking these pictures. The first shot required laying down in the wet grass. At least I managed to not shock myself on the electric fence, learned a sharp lesson about those last year.

Did you notice the editting in the second pic? I bought a new photoshop book and tried a fancy burn technique on that one. If you didn't notice I am happy with the result.

Great shots, Dave. I love this breed of cattle. I have a friend who has a couple and I'm trying to get some shots of them. I like #2. Thought you had done some burning on it. If you have the November issue of Digital Photo magazine, the CD has an interesting technique using gaussian blur and overlays that might work well with this shot (it's the tutorial for bring color out in a flat forest shot). I adapted it recently to the triple portrait of my Danes that I posted earlier. Might be an interesting way to process it.
