I have basically concluded that the 5Dm3 is out of my price range and is not neccessary as I am an amature, and I have no need for the improved AF as I only shoot landscapes and a few portraits

I have had my eye on the mark2 for over a year now, but refused to pay $2500 for it

I think in Australia it is still around $2200, but IMO that is still too much to pay

What does everyone think the price of the mark2 will be in around 6 months time? Is it silly to hope for it to go as low as $1600-1800?

Side question, is the AF of the 5dm2 similar to the 550d? The AF on the 550d does me fine

Thanks everyone!

In the US, no. It can and already has hit sub $1,800 ($1,600 is stretching it). I have no idea what AU prices will do.

I wonder where prices will be after the early adapters dump their 5D2 for the 5D3 and the 5D2 becomes scarce again in the used market.
