There is water, electricity and such but not too many people live there. There is an Indian tribe that does live there, however.

Did they remove the fence from the old post office in Rhyolite?

Good series, Maureen. Artist's Palette is one of my favorite stops in DV, and you did it justice.

Maureen, These photos are GORGEOUS! :)
I especially appreciate the shots you took of those two old buildings. It appears that someone did a lot of work there. ;)
-Bruce

The Captain and crew finally got their stuff together, now if we can only remember where we left it.

The old train depot was shot in Rhyolite; lots of cool old buildings there to shoot. Most of them have been a den of iniquity ;) Thanks, Bruce.

No, we were lucky to be able to go inside the fence to shoot thanks to a park ranger.

I don't think any photos can do that drive justice. The colors and hills are so beautiful. Thanks, Stan.

No problem; you can hike into canyons and climb all over the place. Just not in the summer time....way too hot.

I really like the colors of the earth in #1.. I know this is kind of an odd question but, would you happen to know what minerals are in it to give it that color?
