What do you guys think of the PP? I kind of like it but I'd like to get other's opinions. What could I do to improve it...if anything? Be brutally honest, I won't get my feelings hurt. I was trying something new.

This sort of processing might work with some situations or subjects... this is not one of them though. ;)

Honesty...that's what I'm looking for. You say it's creepy, what's creepy about it? I really want to know.

Personally I associate the look with "edgy" and "gritty" - it doesn't seem appropriate with children.

everyone above has touched on the points I would bring up. They are good examples of using the technique shown, but the subject of choice doesn't fair well for such a steam punk/gritty styled edit.

under all the post processing I can tell these are probably pretty nice shots as a normal picture.

Like others I like the processing but not the subject.

Without dark, there is no light. Without expression, there is no art.

It's a good looking young kid who's full of life and you've essentially turned him into a contrasty vampire with the processing.

As someone said above me, if you were going for a dark, moody, edgy sort of feel, it might work... but given the main subject of intrest in the photo, the processing clashes and causes the responses you're getting.

I think they could both be fantastic with some different processing...

Nothing wrong with that! Have you never seen a horror film?

My issue is just that I find the kid's stupid expressions extremely irritating...

These last two are too contrasty, but I like them better than the Ozzy Osbourne processing in the first ones.
