Trying to meter my 580EX II, but the sekonic L-358 won't won pass 1/400 on the unit. Is there anyway around this? I bought this unit *used* so it's little hard to understand. Thanks!

There are 3 modes on the L-358

1) Measuring Ambient Light with a top shutter speed of 1/8000

2) Flash with cord and 3) Flash cordless both of which have a maximum shutter speed of 1/1000

When using the jog wheel and turning it in an anti-clockwise rotation you'll hit 1/400 , if you then start to come back down a click at at time it will go through several intermediate speed of 400 - 200 - 100 - 90 - 80 - 75 then 1000

A PDF copy of the full instruction manual is available online here http://www.cameramanuals.org …s/sekonic_flash_l-358.pdf (external link)

The Sekonic L-358 is not designed to meter FP Flash (high speed sync).
