nice shot, i tried hiking up there once - big mistake. started snowing and blowing, we had to make a quick retreat down.

Well I certainly didn't hike up that trail you see going down the mountain. I drove to the top. I have taken the Cog Railway in the past when they still had coal burners.

I have thought of thru hiking the Appalachian Trail for years. That photo just adds to my appetite!

I have a similar photo I took back in '79 when I first hiked the presidential range. I stayed in the hut by the small lake you can see. August 21st, it snowed about 2 inches that night. :D

Yours is a great image, shows the depth and forground color nicely.

Very Nice! Love the view! I was up there many years ago on my honeymoon. It was a rare day with mild temperatures and little if any wind.

Thanks for replies. If I remember correctly it was windy and 47°F on top. This was July 14, 2011.
