Vello IR remote

I have a 7d and a vello IR remote but the remote is not working and I'm feeling really dumb because i can't figure out how to make it work.

the battery is good, do i need to sync the remote to get it to work or is there something dumb or is this complete an i d 10 t code on behalf the operator? just trying to figure it out before i send the remote back as DOA.

Apparently (according to the BH product page), somewhere in the camera menus is a setting to allow remote triggering. Have you done this?

i thumbed through the manual and the menus but didn't see anything although i could have very well over looked it! thanks for the info and i will check again

do you maybe have to set the drive mode to "timer" for it to work? maybe totally different when using only a rebel camera but that's what worked for me!

thanks meeko I'm going to sit down here in a moment and try both solutions and see what happens.

And be sure you're pointing it at the front of the camera; that's where the IR sensor is.
