Anhinga and Fish

I came upon an Anhinga trying to swallow a pretty good size fish in our city park. He seemed to be having some trouble getting the fish down his throat, and of course, the fish was not cooperating. Here is a sequence of shots with a lot missing:

Nice action series, looks like it got a good sized crappie. Looks to have struggled to get it down the hatch.. I like number 4, thanks for sharing!

Great series. It always amazes me how large a fish these guys can swallow.

I didn't hear it, but I am sure it would qualify at 7-eleven as a "big gulp". He did take a dring of water to help lubricate the path.
