Howdy one and all...
This month's photo challenge is:
WHAT IS IT??
Your challenge is to take 1 or 2 photos. You will post a close-up of an object that we may see on a regular basis, but perhaps we won't recognize in the orientation or magnification you present.
Another way of saying it: Show a close-up (not extreme cropping, however) of something familiar that can be verified with another photo, but the close-up doesn't really look like what we envision the object to look like.
Example:
I missed a great shot of ice cubes with entrained air bubbles the other day. A macro of the bubbles compared to a full shot of the glass with soda and ice was what I had in mind.
So there's the challenge.
Twist those brains around and show us what we've always seen yet never noticed!
If you crop your photo, it must be no less than a 640x480 piece of the original. That way you can post the cropped image as the "What is it?" and the full image as the "answer".
Post your first picture (if it's relatively small in file size) or link to the picture, AND POST THE LINK TO THE SOLUTION TO THE PUZZLE. (Let's post links here since the solution images may be quite large.)
We can stew on what your first image is before you give it away. Let everyone have a chance to view it in their time zone. Then we can link to the solution on our own anytime we want.
(Multiple entries are allowed. The decision of the judges is arbitrary and secret. So are their identities.)

ADDENDUM
If the solution is not posted, let's go ahead and guess!!

BTW, no editing at all was done to mine except for a little cropping.
