Well, I dont want to be dishonest; What is the definition of proffessional? I looked it up, and the dictionary said there was no definition by the powers that be...

It says "Self employed OR a profesional who is directly involved in the creation of images, moving or still" Wording may not be exactly right; what is that "Or" supposed to mean?

I'd consider selling your work to mean professional.

I'm a professional because I sell my services at the salon. Geddit?

There are lots of enthusiast (weekend) photographers on this forum who are CPS members. If you worry about such a small thing in life... well it's up to you. They're not going to send their lawyers (good squad) (sorry themadman:D) after you.

Before they switched to a pay-service for CPS membership years ago, they used to confirm you were a working image professional. They stopped that for obvious reasons.

I sell my services on the street corner, so I also qualify. Had gold membership for a while now. May switch to silver now that they're not sending new swag for renewals (starting this year).

I concur. It seems as if their main point is that if you have professional-level equipment and photography is your main source of income then you meet the requirements.

You're still a bit young and photography may not be your primary income at this point, but I'd credit you that at this point in the game you have every intention of it becoming your primary income.
As they don't seem to have any stated age requirement, you're fine there.

I have sold my work.*

By "selling my work" the user of this forum does not express any warranty, expressed or implied, to the fact the he has sold numerous, extensive quantities, or that he is a full time, depending on your definition, Photographer, and does not implicate this forum, its members, crazy members, administrators, advertisers, or operator and owner in any way shape or form. This post also does not neccesarily reflect the opinions and views of this forum, its members, crazy members, administrators, advertisers, or operator and owner in any way shape or form.

I have also sold some videos.*

By - ya know what? never mind.

I wonder if the video editors on The Titanic ever went, "Sorry, I can't right now. I'm busy synching the Titanic..."

That's what they want it to mean, but they have no way of confirming that is the case. I've seen dozens of people willingly admit that they enrolled for CPS accounts without ever making money off of photography.

Thanks for the views, guys. Id better think about getting to bed. 12:44 AM here, and I'd like to update my Bluebird nest blog yet, and possibly make another thread here. I may be back.

It's 10:46pm here and I'm sitting alone on my couch on a Saturday night.

I am incredibly lame. At least I stopped drinking.
