jhahaha now that's crazy

its in the capital...about 2-3hours drive from Manila. its difficult for me to go there now since I don't have a vehicle in Manila anymore :(

Some people like doing stupid things that other people might find insane. One couple paid $60,000+ to get married on the deck of the Titanic while on a submarine.

Ah ok, that makes sense. If I decide on a flash and it's between the 580 and 600 I would probably choose the 580 because if the difference is so minuscule I guess it wouldn't be worth it. As long as I can have a strobe or flash that can give me good results with ease of use and whatnot. I guess the jump from regular to an L quality flash is worth it.

Ah but the 580 is L build. The 600 is just an upgrade to it. The 420 is like a non L :)

If you just need basic flash triggering, want maximum power, and use a battery pack, there's nothing wrong with getting a 550ex. May as well pay the extra $25-$50 for the 580ex mk1 though, as it is a pretty big upgrade. It's lighter, smaller, and has a way better recycle time.

Yeah, right now my needs are basic. But I plan on learning how to use this thing properly so I'd rather not regret my purchase in a few months. :p

Just need to get some eneloops after I pick up the flash.

I think so; I looked up a bunch of cat-like creatures and that's about what I came up with.

you were at the zoo, snapped pictures but didn't look at the name plates? :)

Nice shot Ethan.

I must say it's much better than most of your 365 project pictures.

Thanks! I'm glad I went exploring a little bit today. :D

You don't speed in Ohio. Ohio popo are no joke. They especially don't like people from Michigan :p

I used to drive from Michigan to Florida on a regular basis, and Ohio was one of the few states where you just don't go more than 5 over.

When I went to Kentucky the speeds through Ohio were pretty high. I was just sticking with traffic. I am not the person in the left lane riding everyone's tail until they move out of the way.

420? That old POS without even an LCD? Did you mean the 430ex mk1 and 430ex II?

Maybe no one recalls the answer offhand.

As I understand it, it only has radio triggering as an upgrade. I don't think it's any stronger than the 580ex II. Also don't believe the recycling time is improved. But if either of those last two points are wrong, it would be a good reason for an upgrade. For birding, recycle time is everything, even with a battery pack.

Ah, well luckily I don't bird so I wouldn't really need it. I think I would invest in a set of AB's over a flash.

What I hate are those douchebags who go right around the speed limit and NEVER move out of the left. Ever. 12 cars will speed past in the right lane, and they'll just continue to sit in the left lane. Those douchebags should be tagged and have their licenses revoked. They're worse than people who speed.

I was going to advise on that last point. They work like a charm :)
