Ah, well luckily I don't bird so I wouldn't really need it. I think I would invest in a set of AB's over a flash.

You don't HAVE to use a 580ex for birding. The 430s will do plenty fine with a beamer. I think the 580's have 50% more power, but that doesn't mean a great deal unless you're using an 800mm. 430s don't have a port for battery packs though :(

No, this was in the wild. :p

Ohh? It would be my pet, and I'd call him Mistoor Pretty Kitty. Or Bob the Cat.

Yeah, right now my needs are basic. But I plan on learning how to use this thing properly so I'd rather not regret my purchase in a few months. :p

Just need to get some eneloops after I pick up the flash.

Eneloops at Costco FTW.

Get a Maha or Powerex charger at Amazon next. ;)

Are there specific models of the charger I should get? And yes I'm going to check Costco, I had one other time and they had a decent pack, but Amazon's prices aren't terrible either.

What I hate are those douchebags who go right around the speed limit and NEVER move out of the left. Ever. 12 cars will speed past in the right lane, and they'll just continue to sit in the left lane. Those douchebags should be tagged and have their licenses revoked. They're worse than people who speed.

In Canada you will get pulled over and ticketed for doing that. Obstructing traffic. And the left lane is meant for passing only.
