At a local park we noticed that someone has put these carvings in trees along the path. Some of them are quite high up (10-15ft) so I am unable to get a good shot, however here are three of them that are close to the ground.

I Was expecting to see carving in the sapwood and those carvings in what appear to be just the bark layer are very nicely tooled and won't harm the trees one bit. Kudos to the artist!! Nice images too.
