I am going to Las Vegas this weekend. I just want to ask you folks with years of knowledge and skills. I know for sure I will bring my 16-35 for buildings and lights. However I want to bring one more lens just to take general shoots with things, such as people, cars, street, may be shows. Which lens would you take out of my collection and why? I am thinking about 35L or 24-105 for range. Oh my body is 50D. Thanks for taking your time.

i think you may have more use with the 35L than the 24-105.

i didn't need much range while walking around as my 70mm end was long enough at that time (was shooting with a 7D when i went last year, took a 10-22 and 24-70).

When I went to Vegas last year, I owned the 500D with the 15mm-85mm. It was great - worked for just about everything. At times, lighting was challenging, but I wanted to travel light. I would think the 24-105mm would be perfect with the 35mm.

I'm very astonished that you have so many great lens, and only a cropped body. Those lens are all begging for a FF body ;) I know I would.

IMO, with your gear, FF before anything else.... even a USED 5Dc would serve you better than any lens.

I think you would get more use out of the 24-105. It is great walk-around lens. The 35mm is a excellent lens, but on travel, it would be a duplicate of what you already have.

Have fun, are you driving your subby?

Full Frame was the best upgrade I did. Even a 5Dc would go a long way with those lenses.

If you got a FF body, you've also doubled up on all your focal points. 1.6x

No suby. It will be Infiniti G35. One thing about the 35L is its small size and 1.4. I think I might have to take all three.

Regarding FF, one day in the near future. I will go with either 1dx or 5d iii and nothing else. 50d will stay as long as I shoot my son's baseball games. I need cropped for reach, even my 70-200 is too short.

Buy a 600mm or 800mm lens for Vegas; as we see far too many wide or normal lenses shoots from Vegas already!

Canon 5D3 + Zoom (EF 17-40L, 24-105L & 28-300L, 100-400L II) & Prime (24L II, 85L II, 100L, 135L & 200 f/2.8L II; Zeiss 1,4/35)
Sony α7r + Zeiss 1,8/55 FE
Nikon Coolpix A; Nikon F3 & F100 + Zeiss 1,4/50

My thought was 800 mm for wide life. I guess that too many wide things going on in Vegas.

Something with pinstripes and painted flat black. Then you'll fit in Vegas this weekend. (rock-a-billy get together going on out there, Viva Las Vegas).

But really, the 50.

Vegas is wide, but you need to spend time to notice ;)

Seriously almost everybody shoot the same style with similar setup, what is the point for you to add into the pool.

Vegas is not Safari, you can always go back there again. So there is no point to get more tourists shoots IMHO.
