I would agree, it is a little "flat"... but some post processing would help it a lot though, I think. Some more contrast & a little saturation bump would be good things, I think.

Cut his feet off, cut the dogs feed off, background is distracting(hate that shwinn bike accessory behind him)!

Did you use artificial light for this?

yes... I was using two lamps but the wind knocked down one and busted my light the bag of sand did not help much... so was able to use only 1 lamp. Also was cloudy outside and I was under a canopy.

Dont take it personal for its just comonsense. Would you wear that chain and lock in proportion to your size around your neck? Must be heavy.. The leather collar looks way better on its own. He/she is a beautiful dog

Second pic looks better then the first..

Digital... no hard feelings. Value the input... I guess everything that can go wrong well it did go wrong on this practice shoot. I guess I was more concerned on working on lighting and trying to utilize my camera function that left out many issues, background clutter, chain as you mentioned.

Well I did post this so I have to learn how to take any comment which is my first photo post but it sure will not be my last. Just have to keep practicing much more and pay more attention even though I do practice shoots.
