Turkey Vulture

I happened to get lucky and got a turkey vulture "buzzing" the beach of Lake Erie, while I stood on a bluff about 20 vertical ft above the water line.

... the bigger miracle is that I managed to get a shot off, and in focus and fairly well exposed. Normally I choke in these "perfect" opportunities

great light. I too have taken many underwing shots of TVs great to see the top of this important raptor

We all know the "choke factor" when shots like this present themselves boufa, but you did a very good job of capturing this beachcomber!
The above-wing feather detail is sweet, and you can even see the eye well enough to tell where he's looking. Nicely done!

The top view is pretty cool to see, not very common.

Really well done..still looking for my "any pose will do" Turkey Vulture shot, so I'm impressed!
