I decided to do a comparison video between the 5Dc and 5Diii shutter sound in burst mode.
On the 2nd video, the 5Diii is in silent burst mode.
I love the silent mode feature, for anyone that have photographed babies this is really useful.

In your first video, the 5D3 is in low speed continuous, why? Sounds like ~2fps or so.

Agreed, silent mode rules. I can see myself using it the majority of the time.

Is there any compromise in using Silent Mode? If not, why not just use it all the time from factory?

Photography is about GEAR and not talent or practice. Practice won't make you a better photographer. Expensive equipment will. =D

Slows the frame rate down to about 3 fps, and slightly longer mirror blackout time.

I agree, silent will be awesome for weddings and other settings where you don't want a loud 'thwap, thwap, thwap' sound lol

The silent mode is one of the best features of the new Mark 3 (besides finally fixing AF), and definitely a more refined solution than with the Mark 2.

For kicks, I compared it to the Leica M6, which is pretty much the benchmark for quiet cameras - http://www.stephenvoss.com …etal-a-barely-scient.html (external link)

best,
Stephen
