I thought about posting this in the post processing, raw, photoshop section but i thought that since i'm having the problem when designing wedding albums i would ask it here.

I usually design my albums 13x10.. so for me to spread one image across the entire spread i have to zoom the image in quite a bit. I shoot on a 5d classic and mkII so i know i have the res to do it. However when exporting from ID as a jpeg they usually come out slightly pixelated. I recently tried to export as PDF ( i read ID isn't great with jpeg's ) to bring it into PS to convert to jpeg as that's what my album company requires. When I look at the pdf it doesn't export the actual spread but just the images. Basically i get one PDF file with all my album pages but when you go to look through them all the areas of white between the images are the grey and white checkers and the extra space around the images doesn't exist.

I'm pretty sure it's something retarded i'm not doing. I was wondering if anyone can help. Thanks compadre's

No idea about your question, but I use a free album design tool, PhotoJunction, which works well. It drives Photoshop via scripting to do the output, which does a good job.

Thanks tim, this would be great. I can't believe i never heard of this before.

I hate the fact that i spent so much time getting to know ID but it's time to move on since it's not reliable with jpeg output.

what version of InDesign are you using? I've heard of this issue but I thought it was corrected in a recent update.

Go to your master pages and place a white rectangle over the whole spread, then apply the master page to all pages. This will give you the rest of your page back.

Tim...does photojunction do a decent job of downsizing and upsizing images as indesign fails in that respect
