I plan on getting an Induro CT-214 and BHD2 ballhead. I would also like to get an L bracket so it's easy to go between landscape and portrait. DO I need anything besides the L bracket itself? For example would something like this work?

http://www.bhphotovideo.com …_L_Bracket_for_Canon.html (external link)

Thanks

That's all you should need, providing the L-Bracket will work with the ballhead you have chosen.

Thanks, the BHD2 is a Arca-Swiss compatible system.

Yep, watched that thanks. Now just trying to figure out what I'm going to do about a new strap setup since I've been using a combination BlackRapid strap as well as hand strap. Thinking I'll just go with an OP/Tech sling and take the hand strap off.

The L-bracket you picked requires a BG-E7 grip but you didn't show that in your sig. There are two different L-brackets one for the body/grip combo and a different one for the body only. If you have the grip your can use the E-1 hand strap with the L-bracket since the connection on the grip side does not get covered up. If you use the Kirk L- bracket on the body only there is a loop on the bracket to attach an E-1 hand strap to it as well.

For the connection of a Rapid Strap to a L-bracket you can use a Kirk QRC-1 to connect to the arca Swiss portion of the L-bracket and the FastenR-3 can screw into the QRC-1.

I do have the grip, just not included in my signature. I'll give your plate suggestion a try. May also try the Op/Tech sling strap. thanks

thanks, saw that. I think I'm going to switch to the Op/Tech sling for now. Little cleaner solution.

But I ordered the QRC-1 anyway so I can switch back and forth.

Another question for you, is there a Kirk L plate that comes with safety screws? I see their regular plates do. I really like the L plate, just wish there was a version that came with safety screws.

I haven't seen a Kirk L-bracket with safety screws I know what you mean my Kirk camera plate for my 7D/BG-E7 grip has them but my L-bracket for my 5D Mk II/BG-E6 does not.
Send an e-mail to their support team about it. They typically respond very quickly. Would be a nice addition to the L-bracket but they may have a very good reason for not put them on. If you find out anything let us know.

Yea thats another thing, the RRS clamps only support the safety stop pins built into their system.
