that might be his problem using DPP there is a known issue with that right now

I'm using Adobe Labs Camera RAW 6.7 converter and my photos are oohhh so sharp!

+1 to KCY's statement about the DPP problem. More info on that at The Digital Picture's review.

I haven't taken any photos of my CD player to compare, but the photos I've taken with my 5D MKIII are just as sharp as anything I've taken with my 5D MKII.

People like this are looking for problems that don't exist.

Agree 100%, plus the AF system rocks.

Also as sharp as anything I had taken with my Mark IV.

My 5DIII Raw shots look slightly sharper than my 5DII Raws

my shots are just as sharp if not sharper than my 5d2. im using LR 4.1 RC and not DPP. I hate that software.

Bad example. How much detail is in a matte black piece of stereo equipment? Plus I don't see any EXIF on that shot. Who know what conditions it was taken under.

I too have not experienced any softness issues using the DNG converter. Might be best for OP to use the camera and see results first hand vs. relying on images processed using a system know for not properly processing three RAW files.


Canon 5DIII, 7D, 40D, 8-14L, 24-70 f2.8L, 70-200 f2.8L IS, 24L, 50L, 85 f1.8, 100L, 135L, 1.4 Extender, Tokina 16-28 f2.8, and too many lights and accessories to list.

using LR4.1rc I'm getting sharper images from my 5Diii as well. DPP sucks.
