DSLR Controller for Android

Has anyone tried this app? It looks incredible...

I just picked up a 7D and I have a Galaxy Nexus, so I'm tempted to buy this app before it gets out of beta (price will be going up).

Would be interested in hearing opinions of anyone that has tried it My usb adapter should be arriving today from amazon ($3.35).

i saw this the other day too, i'd be curious to know if anyone has used it and what they think as well.

I don't think the Galaxy Nexus would work with the dslr controller.

Well it says on their site (http://dslrcontroller.​com/devices.php) that it has been tested with the Galaxy Nexus.

I'm planning to buy the app tonight, so I will report back with my experience.

In short, it works very well and does a lot of awesome things that I don't even use.

I bought it recently but haven't had much time to play around with it yet. 50D and a Galaxy Nexus. It initially worked a short while and then crashed a couple times in a row. I definitely haven't given up hope but I haven't had time to try it again and see if it's a compatibility issue or just a rare crash.

I've been using Helicon's Android app on my Toshiba Thrive and had good results. Seems to be very stable. It also is in beta, but the beta version is free, with 50% discount on final version for active beta testers.

Just got my OTG cable so i can get this once it comes out of beta. It's no different if they get paid now or they get paid later but i don't want to buy what could end up as vaporware. Another great app is Photo Tools it wont do what DSLR Controller does. But it has lots of useful features like a Light Meter, DOF Calc and EXIF viewer. I don't know how how accurate the meter is but it calculates based on EXIF data.

Helicon is not compatible with the Galaxy Note.

How are you labeling something that already exists as possible vaporware? And an FYI, he is raising the price for DSLR Controller a lot once it comes out of beta, but the upgrade will be free to those that already bought the beta.

And it's less than 9 dollars. Even in its current beta form it's easily worth that.

I used it with my T2i connected to Asus Transformer tablet (using keyboard dock USB port). Works really well. I only played with it a little bit so I have limited experience, but it was stable (no crashes, etc.) and every function worked well. I actually called my wife over and asked "can your iPad do that?" She was very impressed.

Using it with a Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 connected to a 5DII, and loving the app for a home studio setup. The relatively large-screen instantaneous preview is a big plus, not to mention the ability to control the camera. Also have Helicon Remote, but have not had much of a chance to give it a good try. No bugs from either that I have found except be sure when using strobes with DSLR controller, at least in the case of a 5DII, do not have Silent Shooting enabled. This will render the hotshoe control of the strobes intermittent.

I've been using it with my 40D & XTi on an Acer A500 (w00t for the built in USB port) since October, so it's definitely not vaporware. Several updates since then and it's still in beta. Like others have said, it's very stable. I probably would use it a lot more if I had a studio...it's kinda cumbersome out in the field. Plus, I'm still trying to figure out a way to put a mount on a tripod that I can set it down on instead of carrying it around.
