Was asked to shoot this benefit for CAMFED charity group. Was all local hip-hop acts and MC's preforming that I didn't really know anything about. Was my first night out with the new 5D Mk III though, so I figured this would be a good night to break it in. Most of the shots I liked were of this group called LOMOBB, so that's what I'm posting.

Was held at a small club called Billy's Lounge which has to be the smallest stage in West Michigan, so I kept my fisheye on most of the night:

(oh yeah, high-iso shots with the Mk III are INSANE. 6400-12800 was comparable to 3200 on my 7D)

Thanks rick, I really like the b&w's too. Processed them using bjwok's 'Kendras Letter' Lightroom preset.

That's a great set! The strong contrast and colors will work well for the subject matter.

DUDE- you got the MK3? Those look pretty solid for such high ISO- I am debating buying one myself.. How is the autofocus on your 7D, does it back focus on you at all. More importantly, how is the autofocus on the new 5D in comparison?

It's really hard for me to say how good the autofocus is....I always use single point AF, so my 7D & 5D just locks onto whatever I point it at. I'll probably never take advantage of the 5D's 61-point AF. I've noticed that I'm getting more keepers with the 5D though. Not sure if it's because of the better AF system or the faster shutter speeds because of the higher ISO I'm using.

I do get weird focusing issues with my 7D sometimes. It's almost always when using my 50L though. Don't know if it's because of the camera of if my lens is just a soft copy. My old 50mm f/1.4 Sigma was very soft on the 7D too.
