As I stated in another thread OnOne Software offered me a free copy of Perfect Mask as a thank you for purchasing Perfect Layers. So I thought I would give it a try on a couple of shots. I looked for a couple with simple sky replacement as a start. Here are the before and after results. Don't know if I'll keep the results it was just a learning excercise.

I still have a lot to learn about the software and using it inside LR4. These were some supplied skies. I want to learn how to add my own to the available list of backgrounds.

The first one catches my eye as very fake looking. Reason being, above the rock, the sky is out of focus and the rock directly below is completely sharp. I'd swap the sky if you were determined on keeping this image..

Color balance is off in # 2 as well. Something that helps balance lighting in photoshop - adjustment layers > photo filter. You can use the eye dropper to select a color from your photo and adjust density of effect to taste. Keep luminosity checked.

Yes I agree. This, as I said, was a background supplied with the program so I had no control over the image. I think I do want to try and do something with the background in that image but this was just learning the software. I don't think that is the best sky for the image, although the lighting thru the ach matches pretty well the lighting in the arch.

Ah. Not familiar with the program at all, I figured by "supplied" you meant you had found something on the internet or a friend gave you the photo.
