I got a new lens Sigma 70-200 2.8 OS. I'm trying to learn to take pictures of people better, I've always just done landscape and wildlife. I've gotten some basic "strobist" gear and look forward to learning more.

This was shot in natural light mostly just testing the new lens I got yesterday. My question is what type of Post do most of you do on young children like this. I've done basic lighting adjustments in LR. Do you do any skin smothing ext. or leave them as is? any other advice would be great.

Basic adjustments as you do plus fine-tune skin color (Molly looks a tad reddish to me) and light to moderate sharpening. Kids' skin is so smooth anyway it's hard to tell if they're in focus without looking at the eyes. Not a fan of vignetting or soft focus effects.

I really doubt most young kids need any skin alterations. Kids have young, healthy, growing skin. It's older people with wrinkles, oily skin, and pores to hide.
