Hi again everybody,

Three weeks ago we proudly reported that Missy (our mother Bluebird) had begun her first nesting of 2012. This is her 15th nesting with us and begins her 6th season here. Well since then she laid 6 lovely blue eggs in that nest, 4 of which hatched yesterday, and one more of which hatched this morning. All of these first 5 chicks are active and being fed by both parents, and we are now anxiously waiting to see if number 6 will join the brood, hopefully by day's end.
Here's our precious Missy:

And while we've been plenty preoccupied with Missy's nesting these past few weeks, we've continued to photograph all our other yardbirds as well of course... So while we're waiting for number 6, here are a few shots of our other birds...

White-breasted Nuthatch:

Yellow-bellied Sapsucker:

Red-bellied Woodpecker:

We hope you enjoy these, and we'll be back with further updates on the Blues pretty soon.

Each spring I look forward to your Bluebird report and the beautiful images that you take. Every one of these are fantastic Kenn, the colors, details and creamy backgrounds are so nice. Missy is looking great for all the hard work she''s done, can't wait to see the little ones.

Outstanding work.

A wonderful set of images, Kenn. You and Temple sure have been busy! Beautiful shots each and everyone of them. And Missy looks real good. Keeping fingers crossed that Baby6 will hatch and prosper!

You have such a great variety of backyard friends Kenn that I'm always amazed at what you bring us.
I too am hoping that #6 joins the world soon and thrives as he's got a lot of company to enjoy. My absolute favorite in this group is the Tufted Titmouse. You managed to capture that one so well w/both the crest and the bird at full attention. Absolutely adorable!

Awesome shots! How do you know Missy is the same "Missy"? They all pretty much look alike to me, :). I have a nesting pair of Eastern Bluebirds and I could not tell you if they are the same as years past or not, :(.

oh how sweet to have her come back and nest so often, and raise her young. Look forward to hearing how it all goes, and a terrific set of images.
