There is a guy with a 40d and a 17-50mm F/2.8 XR Di II for 500. I had him check the clicks and it was 36000. Would you pass on this deal?

No. I have been looking at backup cameras and I see 40D going for $350-400 range without a lens. The 17-50 is a good lens too. I have the 17-50 VC f2.8 on my camera as a walk around lens. The non-VC is slightly sharper then the VC version.

No, I would certainly go and have a look. It sounds very reasonable. Here, 40Ds are selling in the $350 range, and 17-50s in the $250-$300 range. So your seller's price is a good one. At 36,000 clicks, the camera still has a good few years left.

It looks like an outstanding deal to me. My 40D has ~35k clicks and I am confident it still has alot of life in it. Most go for about $400. The grip is worth another $75 to $100. That lens is easily worth another $200.

So if the deal is for real and the gear is in good shape, I would jump on it!

Good package and the price is very reasonable considering the lens and grip!
