That is the Rainier Tower in Seattle. The lower section is 11 stories, the upper is 29. The architect presumably has some very big "malls" as well given Seattle is an earthquake prone area.

What's the focus like on the Tamron, because that's something that has let them down previously...

Mine is fast and accurate. Did some low-light tests last night (1/10 ISO 1600 f/2.8, 3ev at ISO 100) and it nailed it first try every time as long as there was any contrast available at all. It was at least as fast and accurate as the 24-105L I was testing in the same lighting.

Running short on time, took a quick shot inside of a local target and printed it right there and then. Turned out surprisingly well, no onion bokeh, even with all the highlights. I checked the raw, and sure enough, the bokeh is clean. Very very happy with the shot.
